Weighing Scale Calibration & Verification

DEM Legal Metrology Status for Manufacturing and Calibration of Weighing Equipment for Europe

The Legal Metrology standards for Europe stem from Directive 2014/31/EU and Directive 2014/32/EU, specifically for weighing equipment.

DEM Machines are certified/authorised for both Automatic Weighing systems and non-automatic Scales in all 27 EU member states.

Additionally, we possess authorisation from the European Legal Metrology to self-certify Scales in Europe. Our operations undergo audits by Legal Metrology, ensuring compliance with the aforementioned EU directives and the Legal Metrology standard EN45501:2015.

Certifications:

  • DEM, EU certificate No 0015/NAWID/0050 (for non-automatic weighing instruments)
  • DEM, EU certificate No 0015/MID/0050 (for automatic weighing instruments)

We adhere to European Legal Metrology Standards EN45501:2015. Furthermore, we are authorised verifiers by NSAI for all weighing equipment types in Ireland. Annual audits are conducted by the European Legal Metrology notified body and NSAI.

With the aforementioned certificates, DEM is empowered to authorise Scales for trade purposes. We are legally capable of both initially verifying and re-verifying Scales for trade, representing the highest standard achievable for weighing systems. DEM also holds the capability to self-certify Weighing Scales manufactured by us.

In November 2023, DEM received the latest certificate from NMI in Holland for Alibi control software. This software enables DEM to facilitate trade weight transmission between Weighing Scales and Computer systems without necessitating a weight storage card in the weighing instruments. NMI Certificate No TC12704.

At DEM, we understand that sometimes customers face difficult hurdles whereby an off the shelf solution is not available. At DEM, we have a team with a breadth of industrial experience able to design a custom piece of machinery if necessary for your case.

Coupled with excellent design know-how and manufacturing capabilities, we can work with you to develop a weighing machine/weighing system capable of performing the tasks you would like to achieve.

Design work is completed using 3D modelling software prior to manufacture in our fully equipped workshop. Input is always sought from the customer throughout the process to ensure the customer is fully satisfied with the solution.

Off the shelf machinery often serves the purpose of its intended use, however, on some occasions modifications to pre-existing machinery is what the client requires. Improvement of its function, reliability, production capacity etc.

Weighing Scale Service and Repair

We provide professional and comprehensive weighing scales repair service. The service covers all required activities: replacement of loadcells, indicators, junction boxes, wiring, repair of weigh modules, maintenance of the structure and chassis.

The service also includes the cleaning of all components, fault detection and removal. If the repair is not economical, we suggest replacing the old scale with a new one.
